Department heads meeting

Acting City Mayor Alvin Fernandez meets with the city government’s department heads to formulate cost cutting measures in the city government’s operations in response to President Arroyo’s directive for all government offices to implement a mandatory 10 percent reduction of their average monthly fuel consumption for the first semester of 2005. Among the energy conservation measures proposed during the meeting include lights-off policy during noon breaks, regulated use of city government vehicles and paperless system of issuing memoranda in the city hall. The acting city mayor has directed Gideon Ymasa, network administrator of the city government to network all computers within the city hall complex. Also, the acting city mayor ordered the immediate procurement of six (6) units of biometric timekeeper for use of all city government personnel, including those located at satellite offices outside the city hall compound. Earlier, the acting mayor met with the city government’s finance group to assess the financial standing of the city and find ways to increase its revenue collections. The finance committee reported to the acting city mayor the accounts from real property taxes, business permit taxes, and Malimgas Market rentals. He also met with Pangasinan Board Member John Agerico Rosario, who visited his office.
