VM Alvin visits the city jail

Vice Mayor Alvin Fernandez, in one of his regular visits to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (Dagupan City Jail) in Bonuan, inspects the new sentry room that was funded by the city government. Focusing on the Biblical line: “When I was in prison, did you visit me?” The vice mayor, using city government funds, was very instrumental in the building of a waiting shed outside the jail compound (half of it now is being used as a cooperative store)l, a basketball court for the inmates, a multi-purpose hall now being used for Bible studies and other worthwhile training for inmates, and the new salon that wll be used for livelihood activities by female inmates. The city jail also a received from the vice mayor an antenna tower and several VHF radios and firearms being used for the monitoring and control of inmates within and outside the compound especially when the inmates are escorted to attend court hearings. The vice mayor was accompanied by Warden Roque Constantino Sison III , who was responsible in initiating and requesting for these projects. The warden garnered a grand slam after being adjuged as the Most Outstanding BJMP in the country for three consecutive years. Warden Sison’s proactive style of management has inspired the vice mayor to support the programs of the facility.
