VM Alvin attends inauguration of BJMP facilities

Vice Mayor Alvin Fernandez attended the inauguration of newly constructed Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s facilities last August 25. These were the sentry room and waiting shed, which were constructed using city government’s fund; DCJ saloon, subsidized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office; and the receiving area, funded by the Liwawa ed Asinan Foundation headed by Ms. Lina Tan. The guest of honor was Chief Supt. Arturo Alit, BJMP chief. Mayor Benjamin Lim, Vice Mayor Alvin Fernandez and Councilor Farah Marie Decano gave inspirational messages. For his part, Vice Mayor Fernandez gave his message on the value of knowing God, serving God, and loving God. He told the inmates to take advantage of their time reading the Bible.
