Hundred Islands Park Turnover
The Hundred Islands Park under the Philippine Tourism Authority was formally transferred to the administration of the Alaminos City Government under Mayor Nani Braganza. September 29 is a historic day for Pangasinan and its people. Acting Mayor Alvin Fernandez attended the event, believing in the importance and potential impact it would have on the province. Alvin looks forward to the future developments of the Islands Park. Mayor Braganza has started campaigning for local and international investors that could make the park an eco-tourism location that could give five star accomodations. The city of Dagupan shall greatly benefit from any endeavour promoting the park, as it shall serve as a jump off point to the islands pending the development of Hotels and other infrastructures that could accomodate the influx of local and international tourist.
Family Week Celebration
Acting Mayor Alipio Vittorio Ramon D. Fernandez gives his message to the Day Care Parents Officers and the KaLiPi which was attended by parents and children from the 31 barangays of Dagupan City. Alvin stressed the need for parents to be living examples that teaches the children the virtues and principles that shall make them productive citizens. He stressed the need for TIME. Time must be given to the family.

Cagayan officials visit Dagupan
Acting Mayor Alvin Fernandez today received barangay and municipal officials from Cagayan province led by Piat Mayor Leonel Guzman. The visiting officials were formally welcomed in a simple program at the conference room of the City Mayor’s Office. The Acting Mayor presented to the visiting officials the different programs of the government to promote the Bonuan bangus, distinctively Dagupan. He also stressed the program of the city in waste segregation. He stated that since October of last year, it has been the barangays that have been collecting the wastes in the household. Since then, it has become one of the sources of income for the barangays. The City Tourism Office also showed them a video documentary featuring Dagupan’s world famous Bangus Festival and places of interests, such as the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources’ National Integrated Fisheries Technology Development Center in Bonuan.

Sept 26 Department Head Meeting
Acting Mayor Alvin Fernandez stresses the need to go faster in the city's move for e-governance. He informed the body that the biometrics ordered by the city government has already been delivered. The Acting Mayor has likewise instructed Gideon Ymasa to complete the database for each department with the corresponding pictures per employee. This shall then be reflected on the computer everytime an employee shall be logging in or out. The Acting Mayor likewise instructed the department heads to ensure that they create their e-mail address to initialize the city's e-governance program. Very soon, the city shall only be issuing memorandum via e-mail, thereby reducing the use of paper in the local government.

RC Dagupan joins Rotary Community Corps D3790
Give a man a fish and he lives for a day; teach a man to fish and he lives for a lifetime. This is the purpose of the Rotary Community Corps to be established by all Rotary Clubs under District 3790 under the leadership of Gov. Gerpy Erguiza. The Rotarians are now in a seminar at the Oasis Hotel in San Fernando, La Union. Speakers are PDG Danny Yu, President of The Rotary Foundation. Speaker for Poverty Alleviation thru Micro Enterprise Development is PP Alex Flores from RC Paranaque. Rotary Community Corps in Action resource speaker is Mark Wesley Dizon of the Bayside Rotary. District Chair Vitt Guttierez will be giving a lecture on Learning Modules for RCC. Finally, the integration of all lectures will be presented by District Trainer PDG Marquez Go. The Rotary Community Corps is expected to bring change in the community through the intercession of Rotary, who will provide for the scheme, technology, market and finance that shall be self-sustaining. Anyone interested in the Rotary Community Corps could easily coordinate with any Rotary Clubs in their community.

Region1 Labor-Management Cooperation Practitioners Association
Acting Mayor Alipio Vittorio Ramon D. Fernandez delivered the welcome remarks to the 1st Regional Convention of the RELAMCOPA. The acting mayor stressed on the importance of capability building to all employees. Stressing that sometimes people are not able to do the right things because they are not properly oriented on what the right things are in their organization. He stressed the need for making the subordinates understand the goals and visions of any organization for them to be able to perform better. Relamcopa's vision is for "The Region1 Labor-Management Cooperation Practitioners Association is committed to be a POTENTIAL PARTNER of labor organizations, business communities, local government units, concerned agencies, other stakeholders and the country as a wholeina realizing a DISPUTE FREE, PEACEFUL and PRODUCTIVE work environment towards SOCIAL and COMPASSIONATE JUSTICE, a BETTER QUALITY and DECENT LIFE and, finally, a DEVELOPED, EXPANDING and GLOBALLY COMPETITIVE economy. The resouce speakers were Gurrero Cirilo of DOLE Region1, Dr. Melanio Malicdem of UPANG, Dean Jorge Sibal of the UPSOLAIR, Executive Director Hans Cacdac of the National Council Mediation Board, HR Manager Nestor Flores of the Philippine Depositors Insurance Corporation. The President of RELAMCOPA is Dr. Ramon Bernardo of the University of Pangasinan.

Financial committee meeting
Acting Mayor discusses the city's needed preparation for the Malimgas Market once it accomodates the LTO, NBI and NSO. The biggest foreseen problem shall be with the registration of vehicles which could overflow to the galvan street. It also foresees the need to create new stalls for insurance companies, drug testing companies(which require private restrooms). The potential business that the city could generate from the transfer of these offices will definitely boost the economic condition of the Malimgas Market. Business matters discussed were: Business Tax, Real Property Tax, Market Stall Rentals, Fisheries, Occupational Tax, Amusement Tax, Utility Franchise Fee, Weights and Measures, Tax Mapping and Computerization.
12th Rotary Club of Dagupan Meeting
The 12th Rotary Club of Dagupan meeting became an instant business meeting with the failure of its guest speaker to arrive from Baguio due to heavy rains. It was an opportune time for the group to discuss the formation of the Rotary Community Corps. The rotarians likewise celebrated the birthday of Rotarian Al LLamas who provided for the collaterals(crispy pata).
Farewell Kuya Pedrito Garcia
Three term mayor of manaoag and incumbent vice mayor Pedrito Garcia bids farewell to all earthly possessions. He served his municipality with total committment and compassion. VMLP Pangasinan president assisted by fellow vice mayors reads a resolution of condolence passed in their september monthly meeting unanimously by all vice mayors of the province present at that time.

VM Alvin is Dagupan's Acting City Mayor
Barely a week from his last designation as acting city mayor, Vice Mayor Alvin Fernandez again assumes the position after Mayor Benjamin Lim informed him that the mayor is traveling to Taiwan on an official trip and to China on a personal trip from Sept. 21 until the end of this month. This will be the second time this month for the vice mayor to assume the position. Mayor Lim’s trip to Taiwan, along with Pangasinan’s coastal town mayors and Dagupan City’s key fisheries officials, is a familiarization tour on the new fishing technologies being used in the area, which may be successfully replicated in the city. Last Sept. 3-13, Mayor Lim traveled to India for a personal visit. While Acting City Mayor, Vice Mayor Fernandez held a series of meetings with the city government’s department heads to address concerns that needed immediate attention, such as the PUJ drivers and operators strike, health and sanitation and revenue collection.

Bitstop hosts Dagupan City Fiesta WEBSITE
A memorandum of agreement was entered into by Mayor Benjie Lim in behalf of the city government and Wilson Chua in behalf os Bitstop, witnessed by Vice Mayor Alvin Fernandez and Hermano Mayor for Dagupan City Fiesta 2005 Councilor Alex De Venecia. The website shall be exclusively used for the fiesta celebration. This year the city shall be celebrating the city fiesta with MRS. Dagupan International. The candidates shall be coming from different Dagupan City associations based outside the Philippines. The supporters of candidates could give their support to their candidates by giving their ADS via the website which shall be launched anytime this week.
